Two of our favorite Brooklyn acts are being dragged kicking and screaming to Cleveland for the Champagne of Fests – We first met Slasher Risk a couple of years ago when Andy would book shows at a spot called The Place in Greenpoint, he was kind enough to have Telecult play occasionally which we will always be grateful for – he came with us to hang while we played a library up in Long Island shortly after we met and we asked him about Slasher Risk. He said “well my girlfriend Sara and I have these two Marshall stacks and we just set up a bunch of drums and effects and guitars and just go for it as hard as possible.” We were all like “uh, ok, sure” and then we saw them play, and yeah, it was just like that. Oh yeah, check out an interview with Slasher Risk here.
We have known Grasshopper forĀ almost as long. They actually aren’t playing the Champagne of Fests, but they will be doing an instore at the Bent Crayon that Saturday afternoon. At the fest they will be playing as part of Hex Breaker Quintet.
Oh yeah, so check out some Hex Breaker Quintet from the Wm. Berger’s My Castle of Quiet radio session -
